RSL Germany/SPMT
Ltd. Ireland can offer a range Vision inspection systems, including: Online Detailed Inspection/Calibration: When it is necessary to inspect each part that passes along the production line, SPMT Ltd. can provide a system, which will obtain such results without obstructing or backlogging. Our Online Inspection Systems can process 40 Million Data points per second, capturing full part statistics/data even at high feed rates. The system can instantaneously decipher whether each part is within the given tolerances of its respective CAD drawing. |

| If
the inspected part is within tolerances it continues along the production
line unhindered. If however, the part is outside of the tolerances then
a signal can be transmitted to a printing machine to mark the failed part,
so as it can be scrapped. If a pattern of failed parts begins to immerge
the Online Inspection system can communicate with the production machine
with the potential of eliminating the fault. For sheet metal parts exiting a NC punching machine, it is usual that a sample of parts are required to undergo detailed inspection. Manually inspecting even the first part in a sample is tedious and time consuming, and if this part is outside of the tolerances it is likely that the whole batch may have to be scrapped. Our Offline Detailed Scanning Machine inspects the
first part of a sample and in seconds provides a rapid feedback to the
NC punching machine, which may be calibrated continuously while in production.
Therefore reducing scrap and allowing the punching machine to run more
continuously. As well as performing a pass/fail test on a part, the Scanning
Machine can reproduce required SPC (Statistical Process Control) Charts
for individual parts. Industries such as food, pharmaceutical and electronics often require checking the physical presence of an object, the orientation of a part or the inscription on a part. SPMT Ltd. can provide Visual Part Recognition Systems, which address the above scenarios and much more. These CCD Camera, PC/PLC controlled systems compare and contrast each online part with a master product. Situations where Visual Part Recognition Systems may be implemented include:• Checking the presence of the hypodermic needle from the continuous production of complete syringe/needle set. • Monitoring that all microchips are in the correct orientation. • Checking that the liquid level in a given bottle, is between the maximum and minimum indicators.
