SPMT Limited - History of Sarsfield Precision Machines and Tools Limited

1992
Established in 1992 Sarsfield Precision Machine & Tools (SPMT Ltd). set out to supply the manufacturing market, with high quality special purpose machines designed for unique operations. Having 25 years experience in the engineering sector and later, management, Mr. Patrick Sarsfield decided to set up his own Precision Engineering Company.

1995
SPMT Ltd. designed, delivered and installed a special purpose machine for a multi-national company based in Shenzen City, China. The machine involved decoiling/ straightening copper tubes and feeding to length with an automatic cut-off. This was a significant achievement by the company as it established SPMT Ltd. as a competitor in the international market.

1999
In 1999 SPMT Ltd, won a contract with a major Mobile Refrigeration company to design, manufacture special purpose jigs & install a fully Automatic Welding Robotic System. This Robotic System was specifically designed to weld Aluminium parts.

2002/3
In 2002 SPMT Ltd. acquired a second contract for special purpose jigs and Automatic Robotic Welding System. This Aluminium & Steel Weld system revolutionised the welding procedure and significantly cut the downtime.

Continuing to pursue the implementation of Robotic Systems, SPMT Ltd, also embarked on addressing the relatively new market of Vision inspection Systems.

2003
In the early half of 2003 SPMT Ltd. set up a sister German company “RSL, Science in Engineering.” RSL is completely committed to the research and development of Vision technology.

2003
In recognition of SPMT Ltd. successful installations of sophisticated Robotic Welding Systems, Motoman Robotics (UK) Ltd awarded the company with sole distribution of Motoman Products. This allows SPMT Ltd. all service, maintenance and sales of Motoman Robotics in ROI & N.Ireland.
